The Lesson of Mug’thol
Now that I’ve written about my enjoyment of the Winter Festival, I think I’m allowed a little bit of a bitch. I’m currently queued, waiting for Argent Dawn to let me into the world of Azeroth (soon to have weather, much to my delight).
Now, I understand the popularity of WoW resulting in lag and high populations. In the case of Argent Dawn, it was one of the very few RP servers that was around at release. It was also (obviously) the RP server closest to the top of the server list. :)
Just the same, a 368 person line with a wait time of about 40 minutes is quite a while to wait for my fix. They’re trying to work on it by offering server transfers but, as AFK Gamer points out, they’re not doing the best job arranging the actual movement of players.
I don’t ask for much, Blizz, but … I dunno? Server splits? Maybe? At the very least, I think more freedom in transfers would be a good idea. Right now they’re offering transfers off of Argent Dawn, along with transfers from three other servers, to a brand new shard. With three overloaded servers dumping onto one new server … how is this not going to be another Mug’thol?

Play EVE Online… no lines :P
Smarmy. :)
I enjoy Eve, actually. Just … it’s hard (for me) to get really into an economic simulator. Eve is totally a game I wish I could make a clone of myself to play. It seems like it needs that much time to do it.
