GameState
Guild Wars and DDO both have new ‘State of the Game’ pieces up; I find the Guild Wars ‘State’ addresses extremely interesting. Instead of talking about what they’re going to be doing with the game, GW articles actually talk about the current state of the game world. Some posts discuss skill builds (always helpful for a newb like me), while others talk about the use of skills in PvP. Tactics are a common subject as well.
In comparison, the DDO State of the Game talks about the numerous upcoming features they’re planning to implement in order toĂ‚Â … you know, keep people playing. Seriously, folks, what happened?

Yeah those weekly state of the game articles are damn helpful for newbies, but arenanet doesn’t really inform you whats going on with upcoming updates either. I’m not sure which i’d rather have.
People have been requesting an auction house and better trade since beta, and other than the occaisional empty promise, people still don’t know whats happening with that. The updates most GW fans get are from unfamiliar sources like http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=37986
i like the games because i’m very happy to join the game.
