Any D&D MMO that goes the traditional route can not incorporate the play mechanics of the pen'n'paper version. It just won't work. What the D&D games do well is using the D&D worlds with PC-gaming friendly mechanics.

I am interested to know what Bioware is doing as an MMO, and am really interested to know what the new KotOR has for online features.

I agree and think anything Bioware does will be fantastic. I'm kind of disappointed that they're doing another animated Clone Wars. Was really hoping for something different from Lucas

I could definitely see another D&D game as a possibility. D&D is a powerful IP with what, 30-40 years of history now? Many gamers got their role-playing start chucking dice around a table, and it's still the best-known tabletop game out there (and going strong I might add).

With so many people disliking DDO or feeling like DDO doesn't capture the wonder of the D&D property correctly, it might not be a bad move to take another stab at it, possibly set in the same campaign-world as Neverwinter Nights (because why not? It's got a lot of history).

DDO focused too much on the dungeons and not enough on what really makes D&D fun-- the character development and shared adventures. Anything coming out of Bioware is going to be fun, and I could see some really solid experiences coming out of a new D&D game.
