Loved the podcast! I just got back into EQ2 after a long time away thanks to the free month during the whole Legacy thing. I can't comment on you all being newbs as I've not gotten past lvl 22 on any of my characters (my highest coincidentally being a shorty as well - gnome necromancer). So to me you all sounded like seasoned pros.

I'm currently playing a half elf bard from the Timorous Deep starting area and loving it. I'm finding the Bard pretty good to solo with as I can sneak past most obstacles and target the mobs or clickables I need without having to slaughter everything in my way. When I hit a tough mob I can usually deal out enough damage quickly to take it down, or failing that I can run away faster than they can follow.

I'm enjoying the game for now, but only one other friend is playing at the same time and often we can't get our schedules to sync up. I have found though that the EQ2 community is a little more mature and pick up groups tend to work out for the best. Mind you the OOC chat a few nights back about Kettle chips making people gay was a bit too reminiscent of WoW for comfort.

In general I always feel like there is so much to do and so much that I am missing in each area. But as with most fantasy MMO's I get the feeling of been here done that, very quicly. So if I need to grind mobs or harvest random plants for too long I get bored and move on. So far the new content isn't making this too arduous so I'm sticking around for the moment.

I found the discussion about which game you'll be playing next interesting, and echo the 'sick of fantasy' feelings of everyone. I've played pretty much all of the ones suggested and still ended up back at EQ2. I have high hopes for The Agency, Champions online and DC Universe but who know's when they'll actually come out. You didn't mention Eve online as a non-fantasy option, I'm assuming the PvP centric gameplay was the reason for this?
