About

Update: Please be aware that for the immediate future I’ve ceased blogging at this site. Any and all email is welcome about the work I’ve done on MMOG Nation, but I’m not currently seeking any new blogging opportunities or collaborations. Thank you.
MMOG Nation (pronounced ‘mawg nayshun’) is my place to make comments and post reactions to goings-on in the Massivesphere. In my day job, I work to make sure that the readers of the Slashdot Games page are aware of events in the gaming industry. Because of the general interest nature of that site, what I put on the page is only a small subset of what interests me personally. While I may find the release of a patch to Dark Age of Camelot fascinating, odds are good that a post about that on the Games subsite would get few comments, and likely some derision.
Though I don’t make posts about such things, I still find them fascinating. In my days writing for MMORPGDot I had a soapbox for my Massive-related thoughts. Since then I’ve had to bite my tongue, watching as blogs like AFK Gamer pick up the torch where I left off with my Random Dialogue column. This site is my declaration that I’m tired of sitting on the sidelines. I have ill-conceived and poorly-thought out opinions as a Massive gamer too, and the world will hear about them. By George they will hear about them!
To Be Clear: This site is not intended to follow journalistic standards in any way, shape, or form.
The one and only purpose of this site is for me to blather about MMOGs. Period. It’s a blog. Blogging is (most of the time) not journalism. I’m not even a journalist at my day job. The only time I try to follow journalism standards is when I write for a site that, you know, actually uses them.
