The good news is that I expect to be blogging more regularly here. Expect a return to lengthier discussions and more insightful commentary.

The bad news is that this blogging will only involve MMOs if the opportunity presents itself. Like everyone else right now, it seems like I’m kind of burned out on the genre. Warhammer is lots of fun, really looking forward to Lich King, don’t get me wrong. But I want to play some games just for me. There’s a lot of bad mojo floating around in the world right now between politics, the economy, and whatnot, and I just need to step back from *playing* MMOs so I can keep *working* on MMOs. If that make sense.

To be more specific: in some ways I feel like I’m a carpenter who comes home from work and saws wood for fun.

So what will I be playing instead? Glad you asked.

I bought Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise when it first came out, but I haven’t even put it into the console. That sucks, and I aim to rectify that. I’m told that it’s a great update to the original that I so, so loved. I can’t want for another chance to fall in love with some furry friends all over again – the Rhinos above look particularly awesome.

I played the crap out of Oblivion, but only put the barest toe into Shivering Isles. I want to go back and have fun with my ultra-powerful Paladin and really savor the insanity.

Most of all, I’m looking forward to Fable II. I have very limited gaming funds right now, unfortunately, but I’ve resolved to do some trades at the Gamestop so I can afford this. I loved Molyneux’s original, and it sounds like the second offering is going to be ‘the first one with everything he originally promised’. I am very enthused about this one, and it’s likely the one you’ll hear the most about down the road.
